Kielce Trade Fairs - general information

History

The Kielce Trade Fairs company commenced its operations in 1992, with the International Defence Industry Exhibition being its first project. In the 1990s, Kielce hosted just a few exhibitions annually, while in the current fair calendar there are almost 60 fair events that have been scheduled to be held in 2009.

Kielce Trade Fairs has expanded its activity beyond the territory of Poland, organizing in Ukraine East European versions of some of its fairs. To implement this project, experience and expertise acquired on the Polish exhibition market was used. The first such fair was provided with honorary patronage of the Polish Embassy in Kiev and became part of the celebrations of the Polish Year in Ukraine.

Exhibition centre with the highest development dynamics

In 2008, we boasted a 22% share in the Polish exhibition market, thus still becoming Poland’s second largest trade fair company.

In addition to that, according to the report by the Polish Chamber of the Trade Fair Industry, Kielce, as an exhibition centre, enjoys the highest development dynamics in Poland.

Since 2006, another 21 events have been incorporated into the fair calendar of Targi Kielce, including the first exhibitions prepared by external operators, such as the Bakery and Confectionary Fair BAKEPOL organized by the Poznań International Fair or the British fair dedicated to sheet metal working technologies BLECH POLSKA, which will be organized for the first time this year. The high development dynamics that we have recorded in the last three years attracted to Kielce another 1, 631 exhibitors. The total number of exhibitors in 2008 amounted to 5, 456, which gives an increase of almost 43% as compared to 2005. The exhibition space rented by these exhibitors in Kielce was larger by over 85% in comparison with 2005. Exhibition stands at tens of fair events held annually in the last three years were visited by over 415, 000 people.

Membership of international trade fair organizations such as the UFI and CENTREX testifies to the high quality of provided services. Three exhibitions, i.e. the International Fair of Technologies for Foundry METAL, the International Fair of Plastics Processing PLASTPOL, as well as the International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO are members of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) seated in Paris. The Kielce Trade Fairs company is Poland’s second exhibition centre to have met the strict requirements and conditions for membership of this international organization. A given trade fair being a member of the UFI guarantees its international quality level, high organizational standards and significance.

Awards and distinctions

The Kielce Trade Fairs company has been honoured with numerous awards and distinctions, the most prestigious being: the Polish Business Leader award received in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 a Diamond to the Gold Statuette of the Polish Business Leader. These awards are given by the Business Centre Club. The Company received the Gold Statuette in recognition of the effective implementation of its stable development policy, continuous introduction of new quality services into its offer, as well as its generosity in providing support to those in need. Seven of our fair events have been awarded with a European Medal for Services, which is granted by the Office of the Committee for European Integration and the Business Centre Club: the International Fair of Road Construction Industry AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA, the International Defence Industry Exhibtion MSPO, the International Fair of Technologies for Foundry METAL, the International Exhibition of Church Construction, Church Fittings and Furnishings and Religious Art SACROEXPO, the International Fair of Local Public Transport TRANSEXPO, the International Fair of Plastics Processing PLASTPOL and, since 2008, the International Fair of Agricultural Techniques AGROTECH and since 2009 the Exhibition of Metalworking and Metal Machining STOM. In recognition of the organization of prestigious international trade fairs and exhibitions, the promotion of Poland at international level, as well as the contribution to the celebrations of the Polish Year in Ukraine, the Kielce exhibition centre has been honoured with an award of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. In 2004, the Company received an Economic Award of the ?wi?tokrzyski Voivode, which is given to companies contributing to the promotion and economic and social development of the ?wi?tokrzyski region, enhancing its image and values. In 2007, the Kielce Trade Fairs company came first in the FORBES magazine ranking ”The Event of 2007 in the ?wi?tokrzyskie Voivodship”, in addition to being honoured with awards such as: NOVATOR, ‘Market Leader’ and ‘Leader of the Region’. In 2006, 2007, and 2008, the Kielce exhibition centre was honoured with a Business Gazelle, a prestigious European award given to small and medium-size enterprises. The Gazelle is given by the Puls Biznesu magazine to companies which not only report profits, but also record increasing revenue levels annually. What the organizers found to be the most important factor was its rapid and continuous growth. The position in the ranking depends upon the percentage sales volume increase. The purpose of this ranking is to promote companies which emphasize transparency in its activities. Therefore, to qualify, all companies in the ranking need to have a proven track record and be reliable, with solidity and honest openness being their priorities. According to the organizers, an important purpose of this ranking is to promote companies which are honest, reliable and which reveal all information about their financial results. In 2008, the Kielce Trade Fairs company also received a ?wi?tokrzyska Quality Award, which is given by the Marshal of the ?wietokrzyskie Voivodship, while Andrzej Mochoń, President of the Management Board of Kielce Trade Fairs received the ‘Man of the Year’ award from the ?wietokrzyski Voivode.

 Showcase for the Region

Kielce Trade Fairs provides a venue for meetings held by entrepreneurs from Eastern and Western Europe. The Company supports the co-operation that the municipality and local authorities in the region have established with other European centres, thus promoting them in Poland and abroad. The development of the exhibition centre largely contributes to the upward trend in the economy of the region.

Kielce Trade Fairs stimulates the development of the region, in addition to being its showcase. Each year, fair events held in Kielce attract almost 200,000 visitors, who also take tours of the city and of the ?wi?tokrzyski region. The exhibitions also enhance the economic and tourist values of the region, being a driving force for the development of hotels, restaurants and catering companies, cultural institutions, transport services, road infrastructure, parking facilities, and passenger transport. The enhanced prestige and increased size of fair events also have an impact on the situation in local tourism. The fairs facilitate international contacts established by the municipality, thus building the image of the city.

Kielce Trade Fairs – the only good place

We are in possession of Poland’s second largest exhibition space, of which we are the owner. The exhibition facilities have been adapted for disabled people’s use, in addition to featuring all utilities required by exhibitors – beginning with water supply and electricity, finishing with broadband and telecommunications services available at all stands in the pavilions as well as in the external exhibition area. Within the premises of Kielce Trade Fairs is also a modern Conference Centre. Among its strengths is excellent audio-visual equipment, broadband in all the rooms, as well as spacious, air-conditioned conference rooms with their mobile partitions enabling the exhibition space to be arranged according to requirements. The Conference Centre annually accommodates almost 400 various conferences, seminars, presentations as well as art exhibitions.

The extension of the Kielce exhibition centre will be focused on the development of the exhibition hall E with over 6, 000 square metres of mezzanine floors. In addition, the exhibition hall M, featuring 3, 000 square metres of space and a car park, will also be built. Another element of the project is the development of a conference and congress centre with a seating capacity of 1, 000 persons. It will include a tower, in which a banquet room will be located
