Brazilian Primary aluminum production grows 3.8% in june

The Brazilian Aluminum Association - ABAL - published the primary aluminum production figures related to June/07. According to the Association, 137.3 thousand ton were produced in the month, a volume 3.8% higher than the production in June 2006. The total production in the first semester (January to June) was 814.3 thousand ton, corresponding to 2.9% increase compared to the same period in the previous year, when 791.3 thousand ton were produced.

The results support ABAL´s forecast of 3,4% production increase in 2007, with a total primary aluminum production of 1,658 thousand ton in the year.
