Global resources group BHP Billiton on Tuesday announced that its chief legal counsel and head of external affairs, John Fast, who joined BHP in late 1999, would retire early in the new financial year.
Until a replacement for Fast was found, Peter De Zwart, regional counsel Americas, would assume the responsibilities of the role, the company said in a statement.
“John has been a valued member of my senior executive team and I wish him well in his future career,” said BHP Billiton CE Chip Goodyear.
