Industry said EU has Right to reject the combination of BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto

Latest news: An advisor of Oxera company said that a group of EU is investigating the combination of Rio TInto and BHO Billiton, and it has right to reject this combination. Considering the combination of Rio and BHP will gave an unacceptable impact of global iron ore market, Eurofer is planning to submit an offer to EU Commission, and EU Commission has promised before they will meet the iron ore demands of Europe industry. This time EU commission will listen to the suggestion of the main customers of Rio and BHP. Though most of Rio Tinto Alcan’s iron ore is imported to China and Japan, that isn’t affect EU Commission use its veto.
