London, May 7—BHP Billiton Ltd’s CEO Marius Kloppers said Wednesday that Chinese investors will definitely carry out a plan for purchasing the company some day in the future. “Chinese investors have spare assets to plan, or is planning for international acquisitions.”, said Kloppers to an investor, but he declined to comment on speculations about Chinese investors to buy BHP shares. Chinese national mining group Chalco unexpectedly bought a 9% stake into Rio Tinto for US$14 billion, or GBP60 per share, which makes BHP-Rio Tinto merger much more complicated. China’s plan for buying into BHP is still at a preliminary stage, reported Australian media last month. COPYRIGHT All rights reserved.
