Australia's Alumina says to raise capital

SYDNEY, April 30 (Reuters) - Australia's Alumina Ltd (AWC.AX) will commence a capital raising involving retail and institutional investors on Thursday, the company said, requesting a halt on trade in its shares. The group earlier this year scrapped its final dividend in an effort to save cash after reporting a 61 percent dive in 2008 net profit amid weakening metals prices.
