Top insurance award for Alba

MANAMA: Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has won the Mutual Insurance Company (FM Global) award for meeting standards of protection from risks. FM Global risk management engineer Ian Pathania hailed Alba's achievement. "This is the second time in 15 years that this award is presented to an insured industry," he said. "The team of Alba Calciner made huge efforts to reach this achievement in a record time, which proves the ability of management and employees in handling risks as per modern standards of international insurance documents." Alba Carbon and Calciner general manager Hameed Abbas claimed that Alba was now a world leader in the field. "Once again, Alba proves to the world that it is one of the most outstanding smelters in terms of production, achievements and insurance and risk management," he said. "The achievement of the Calciner employees emphasises their ability to compete against the world's best." "This achievement will reflect directly on Alba's reducing insurance costs of Alba in general and that the Calciner experience will be applied to other departments at Alba in order to meet the best standards in international risk management, Alba corporate service manager Falah Sayed Hashim added.
