Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba)'s commitment to stimulate the interest of Bahraini youngsters in aluminium as a career option was given a boost as the company hosted a group of 19 students from Alshurooq Secondary School for Girls on a recent visit to the Alba plant.
The students, who were accompanied by their teacher Fadheela Ali Abdul Nabi, were welcomed by Latifa Mohammed from Public Relations Department.
The students were given an overview on the aluminium production process, an insight into the company's operations, safety records, and environmental achievements as well as information on the various career paths that the aluminium industry offers.
Commenting on the visit of the students from Alshurooq Secondary School for Girls Alba's Chief Executive, Laurent Schmitt said:
"It is always a pleasure to welcome school students to the Alba plant, and share with them the values that enabled Alba's transformation into one of the world's leading aluminium smelters in a span of 40-years. We hope that this visit proved to be a great learning experience for everyone, and that it will have played a key role in shaping their choices at university for their chosen careers."
The students were later given a tour around the various production facilities of the Alba plant as well as taken to the Princess Sabeeka Oasis to demonstrate first hand the success of Alba's environmental commitment.
