Extruder Signature Aluminum acquires Atlantic Aluminum

Washington (Platts):Signature Aluminum has bought extruder Atlantic Aluminum, located in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina. Signature Aluminum, previously known as WXP, is a portfolio company of Miami-based private equity firm HIG Capital. The transaction was completed on October 6. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Within the last ten months, Signature Aluminum has acquired Werner Co.'s Extruded Products Division located in Greenville, Pennsylvania, and Temroc Metals, located in Hamel, Minnesota. "As a result, Signature Aluminum is today a leader in providing custom aluminum extrusions and alloyed aluminum billet
to customers throughout North America," it said.

Said John Thigpen, president of Signature Aluminum, "Atlantic provides us with a physical presence in the Southeast and offers high quality extrusion capabilities as well as an internal paint line to complement our current operations."
