February 9, 2007 – The Aluminium Association of Canada announced that primary aluminum production in Canada declined nine-tenths of one percent in January to an annual rate of 3,056,310 metric tons, a decrease of 27,869 tpy from the December rate of 3,084,179 metric tons. Compared to a year ago, the annual rate of production was up just three-tenths of one percent over the January 2006 annual rate of 3,045,784 tonnes. Actual production in January totaled 259,577 tonnes.
