…Indalex equally downbeat on N. American products demand

Indalex, the largest extruded products manufacturer in North America, was equally downbeat about the state of domestic demand through the rest of this year. "The North American extrusion continues to be weak, as conditions in the Residential Building and Construction market remain poor, and we are concerned about the truck trailer market for the remainder of the year," said Timothy R.J. Stubbs, President and Chief Executive Officer. "We are not counting on a rebound in market demand for the duration of this year, and will continue to focus on cost control and gaining share in our target markets," he added. Indalex’ shipment volumes fell by 16.6% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2007, while the company reported a loss from operations of $0.5m, compared with income of $8.6m in the year-earlier period.
