PARIS, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Rio Tinto Alcan, the aluminium branch of global miner Rio Tinto, has cut production at its two French energy-intensive primary alumimium plants due to the fall in demand, a spokeswoman for the company said. "We have cut production at our two plants due to adapting to the economic climate," a spokeswoman for Rio Tinto Alcan told Reuters. She said 29,000 tonnes out of 273,000 tonnes of aluminium produced annually at the group's largest French plant in Dunkirk had been put on halt since the start of the month and until the end of February, a period during which its electricity bill is the highest.
