Rio Tinto Alcan in talks in for power deal for possible smelter in Paraguay

MONTREAL _ Rio Tinto Alcan said Monday it was in talks with Paraguay?s Administracion Nacional de Electricidad regarding a power purchase agreement for a potential aluminium smelter in the South American country. Under the terms of this agreement, Rio Tinto Alcan will work with ANDE to develop an agreement that balances price and its contribution to Paraguay?s social and industrial development.
