Alcan Cable launches High Speed product line of STABILOY(R) aluminum alloy feeder cables

Alcan Cable, part of Alcan Engineered Products - a business unit of Rio Tinto - unveiled today its new STABILOY（R） FeederPlex HS（TM） XHHW-2 and STABILOY（R） WIDESTRIPE HS（TM） XHHW-2 aluminum alloy feeder cable products as high speed wiring solutions for use in commercial, institutional and industrial building applications. Both cable products feature a specially designed insulation on the aluminum alloy conductors that allows for fast and easy cable installation without the use of wire pulling lubricants.

As a unique solution for wire and conduit installations, FeederPlex HS（TM） XHHW-2 is a factory-produced, plexed assembly of STABILOY（R） XHHW-2 conductors that are color coded for phase identification with a specially designed cross-linked polyethylene （XLPE） insulation that provides up to a 50% reduction in pulling force compared to standard paralleled single conductors installed with pulling lubricants. In addition, FeederPlex HS（TM） XHHW-2 eliminates multiple reels of cable on the jobsite simplifying materials management and providing distribution efficiencies to the electrical contractor.

STABILOY（R） WIDESTRIPE HS（TM） XHHW-2 is a single, phase identified, aluminum alloy cable that features the specially designed cross-linked polyethylene insulation that allows for fast and easy cable pulls by eliminating the application and clean up of wire pulling lubricants. As a result, the electrical contractor reduces his total installation cost by reducing labor, waste and material expenses.

Like all Alcan Cable STABILOY（R） aluminum alloy feeder cables, the "High Speed" family of products meets the requirements of the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. standards, is approved for use in accordance with the recommendations of the National Electrical Code, and is available in a wide range of conductor sizes.
