Rio Tinto cooperates with Sumitomo to build hydrogen pilot plant at Yarwun alumina refinery

   According to an announcement by Rio Tinto, it has built a partnership with Sumitomo Corporation, and both sides have signed a letter of intent to jointly study the construction of a hydrogen pilot plant at Rio Tinto's Yarwun alumina refinery in Gladstone, Australia, and explore the potential uses of hydrogen at the refinery.

  The two companies chose Yarwun as the location for the Gladstone hydrogen pilot plant which has been being studied by Sumitomo.
  This project is in line with Australia, Queensland, and local governments' efforts to make Gladstone a hydrogen energy hub in the future.
