Mexico Mining Production Fell 15.2% In Jan

Mexico city, March 28—Mexico mining production in January fell 15.2% compared with the same period a year ago, while production of copper, silver, gold and zinc were lower than the levels on year, reported INEGI last Friday. Inegi said copper output declined nearly half—48.9% on year to 15,688 tons, because of strike on the largest copper mine Cananea, Grupo Mexico takeover the mine in January resuming part of the production. According to Inegi, zinc fell 21.5% on year to 28,944 tons in January; while lead increased 17.7% to 10,361 tons.
