New Delhi, Aug 18 Aluminium futures prices today gained up to 0.63 per cent on the Multi Commodity Exchange as traders engaged in enlarging their positions, driven by overnight recovery in base metals at the LME. Firm demand in the spot markets and covering-up of short positions by traders also attributed to rise in aluminium prices at futures market here. Aluminium for August contract traded 0.63 per cent higher at Rs 96.05 per kg with an open interest of 630 lots. Aluminium for delivery in September contract too rose by 0.52 per cent to Rs 97 per kg, in an open interest of 48 lots. Marketmen said reports of overnight gains in lead and other industrial metals at the LME and pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the domestic spot markets mainly influenced lead prices in futures trading here.
