Base metal prices rise further on higher global cues

Mumbai , Sep 9 Copper, lead, zinc, tin and aluminium prices rose moderately on the non-ferrous metal market here today on good industrial demand coupled with higher advices from the London Metal Exchange (LME). On the other hand, nickel prices declined due to lack of buying support from industrial users. Copper scrap heavy firmed up by Rs 6 per kilo to Rs 324 from yesterday&aposs closing level of Rs 318. Copper utensils scrap and lead strengthened by Rs 4 per kilo each to Rs 295 and Rs 102 respectively. Copper cable scrap, copper armiture and copper wire bar moved up by Rs 3 per kilo each to Rs 330, Rs 316 and Rs 358. Copper sheets cutting and zinc edged up by Rs 2 per kilo each to Rs 312 and Rs 113. Aluminium utencils scrap and tin also looked up by a rupee per kilo to Rs 85 and Rs 823.
