New Delhi, Sep 14 Aluminium futures fell by 1.84 per cent on the Multi-Commodity Exchange today as traders reduced holdings taking cues from weak global markets. Aluminium for October contract fell by 1.84 per cent to Rs 88.90 per kg in a business volume of two lots, while the September contract eased by 0.96 per cent to Rs 87.80 per kg, clocking business turnover in 60 lots. Analysts said weak trends in copper and other base metals in global markets on demand worries and recovery in dollar mainly weighed on the aluminium prices at futures market here. At Shanghai, aluminium fell by 1.60 per cent to 14,720 yuan per tonne. The metal ended 081 per cent down at USD 1,830 per tonne at LME on Friday. Subdued demand for the metal in the spot markets also cast its shadow on the aluminium prices in futures trading.
