Select base metals recover on firm global cues

New Delhi, Oct 14 Select base metal prices recovered up to Rs 2 per kg on the non-ferrous metal market in the national capital today largely on the back of overnight gains in base metals at the London Metal Exchange.
Better offtake by consuming industries also supported the uptrend.
Marketmen said apart from firming trend in global markets on hopes of pick up in demand for base metals, fresh buying by stockists following increased demand from consuming industries also influenced select metal prices in the national capital.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery rose by 1.6 per cent to 6,235 dollar a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap which remained in bearish mode, attracted fresh buying and prices gained Rs 2 each at Rs 314, Rs 335 and Rs 294 while nickel (4x4) traded higher by the same margin at Rs 877-987 per kg.
Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported traded higher by rupee one each at Rs 110, Rs 123 and Rs 127 per kg.
