Gangavaram port handles 4497.5 tonne cargo

Gangavaram Port discharged 4497.5 tonne (612 packages) of project cargo in a single day from vessel ‘MV Setubal Castle’ carrying project cargo for Vedanta Aluminium Limited on October 18. The port followed up this achievement by discharging 4,406 tonne (620 packages) from the same vessel the next day (October 19). This cargo handling exceeds the highest discharge rates of 1,230 tonne achieved for project cargo vessels at neighbouring ports, according to a press release. Till date, the port has handled five capesize vessels and will handle additional four capesize vessels in the next 30 days, the release added. SEARCH
