ADCA meeting will address impact of green policies on aluminium industry

THE AUSTRALIAN Die Casting Association says the Australian Aluminium Council’s Miles Prosser speak at its Annual General Meeting. The ADCA annual general meeting, being held on 17 November 2009, will focus on the impact of greenhouse policy on Australia’s alumina and aluminium industries. Prosser will review the impact of Government policies such as the Renewable Energy Target and the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme on Australia's aluminium industry, including impacts on investment, operation of smelters and prices. Prosser will also look at the implications for the global trade in aluminium metal. As the Executive Director of the Australian Aluminium Council, Prosser has had twenty years experience in industry policy issues. The Australian Aluminium Council is currently developing an effective response to climate change, the renewable energy target and the reputation of the aluminium industry and its products. Non-members of the ADCA may attend the event for $30.
