Aluminium Association appoints Mr Kramer to board and executive committee

The Aluminium Association announced that Mr Kevin Kramer president of Alcoa Growth Initiatives has been elected to serve on the Association’s Board of Directors and appointed to the Board’s Executive Committee. Mr Steve Larkin president of Aluminium Association said that Mr Kevin brings a wealth of leadership and industry experience to his new responsibilities on the Board and Executive Committee. Mr Kevin’s ideas and perspective will help shape the Association’s course in the critical years ahead. The Association is fortunate to benefit from his broad background. Mr Kramer said that “I am pleased to be able to put my experience to work to promote the many benefits of aluminium. Being the most recyclable, sustainable automotive, packaging and construction material on the market today, we have a full working agenda ahead of us and I look forward to working with others to carry out these initiatives.” Mr Kramer joined Alcoa in 2004 following 21 year career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he held a series of marketing and management assignments before being named vice president of Original Equipment Sales, North American Tires. He also held international marketing and sales assignments in the Asia Pacific region for Goodyear. Mr Kramer was president of Alcoa Wheel & Transportation Products where he was responsible for forged wheels and aluminium structures. In this position, Mr Kramer was also Executive Sponsor of the Ground Transportation Market Sector Team, a member of the Alcoa Employee Relations Council and acted as the Alcoa Sponsor for the Toyota relationship across all businesses. He was named to his current and newly created position in June 2009. In this role, he is responsible for supporting commercialization strategies for organic growth, and identifying and developing new applications that respond to market trends and customers’ needs. Mr Kramer also supports the development and execution of global marketing programs for aluminium applications across existing and new markets and as part of this assignment he will oversee the Alcoa Market Sector Teams.
