Consumption of profiles may reach 320,000 tonnes in 2010

According to revised Strategy of Development of the Russian Steel Industry up to 2020 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the demand for extruded profiles and flats for construction tends to grow. By 2020 the demand for aluminium construction profiles may grow 2.5 times up to 320,000 tonnes. Construction sector share in the total aluminium consumption will increase up to 25% to 27%. One of the main tasks of the development of Russian aluminium construction market is import substitution. Increase in competitiveness of the Russian aluminium products will be achieved mainly due to improvement of quality and use of highly productive equipment and modern technologies.
