China’s demand growth for aluminum may slow to 9 percent per year from more than 20 percent as the economy shifts to being consumer driven and away from an industrial base, Aloca Materials’ President Timothy Reyes said in an interview in Zhengzhou. The demand growth will slow over this decade, he said.

China will be a net aluminum import in the next few years, he said.
