Baosteel to increase oriented silicon steel prices after Japan’s earthquake

It's analyzed that after the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, China's steel enterprises are in the state of mind hoping strong demand for reconstruction essential from Japan.


The interruption of steel products supply from Japan have created great room for the neighboring countries such as China, Korea, Taiwan, even CIS countries to sit in on the same products from Japan.


It is reported that Baosteel, the China largest high end steel-product producers has anticipated a rising demand from the neighboring market and has raised the prices for April deliveries.


Most carbon steel prices have remained unchanged; however, the company decided to increase the oriented silicon steel prices by RMB1, 000/ton.
