UK’s Trade Remedies Authority (TRA), formerly known as the Trade Remedies Investigations Directorate (TRID), has launched its first investigation in response to the application filed by the UK industry, which represents steel manufacturers of at least 50% of the total production in the UK.
The case was started on June 21. The TRA will investigate whether China-origin aluminum extrusions are being dumped in the UK. The authority has received enough evidence to conduct a full investigation.
Oliver Griffiths, the Chief Executive of TRA, said that this investigation into the potential dumping of China’s aluminum extrusions is the UK’s first trade remedy investigation and he also encouraged all parties with interests in this industry to take part in the investigation.
