Ukraine produced in January-September 1.254 million metric tons of alumina, 3.48% more than in the corresponding period last year,the economic policy ministry reported Wednesday.
Alumina output in September was 136,170 tons, up 2.2% on the September 2005 figure.
The Nikolaev Alumina Plant, controlled by Russian Aluminum, increased its alumina output in January-September by 4.25% to 1.055 million tons.
The Zaporozhsky Aluminum Combine, controlled by SUAL Group, produced 198,820 tons of alumina in January-September, 0.4% less than in January-September 2005.
Ukraine's primary aluminum output in January-September fell by 1.47% on the year to 84,258 tons, all produced by the Zaporozhsky Aluminum Combine.
