Ditto, who steered the company to its current position, where it controls one of the largest copper-cobalt concessions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, will retire effective July 10 but has offered to stay beyond that date to ensure an orderly transition.
Glencore owns a direct stake in Katanga, has an off-take agreement for production from the Kamoto property and played a key role in Katanga’s take-over of Nikanor. The company has already identified a prospective candidate to replace Ditto, Katanga said.
