Mytilineos unit signs 10-year, $2 bln alumina supply contact with Swiss Glencore

ATHENS (Thomson Financial) - Greek metals, mining and engineering holding company Mytilineos Holdings SA said its unit Aluminium of Greece SA has signed a $2 billion alumina supply contract with Switzerland's Glencore with a 10-year duration. The alumina will be exported to European, African and Asian countries, after value has been added to Greek bauxite. The president of the Greek company, Evangelos Mytilineos, said: "Our strategy of seeking cooperation at various levels with foreign players is a given. This 10-year agreement shows the renewed faith in our groups metallurgy division by one of the largest international players".
