PORTLAND Aluminium has announced that it has suspended contractor Silcar after it recognised the group’s poor safety performance. Porland Aluminium operations manager John Osborne says safety is the operations number one priority and Silcar’s performance recently had not met the standard required. Osborne says that Silcar’s management has been asked to develop a plan to improve their supervision and performance in relation to safety. The plan is due on 31 July 2009 and will be reviewed by Portland Aluminium’s management in the week beginning 3 August 2009. source:www.mineralsprocessing.com.au
