OSLO, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Norsk Hydro said on Monday it may shut earlier than planned an old production line at its Karmoey plant in Norway as part of its planned capacity cut due to weak aluminium markets. Earlier, the Norwegian group said it was reviewing its entire global operations for possible production cuts to meet lower demand as the financial crisis hit demand for metals. Spokesman Erik Brynhildsbakken said that the Soederberg line at Karmoey was one option for capacity reduction, especially since the line's emissions certificate is due to run out in 2009. "The plan was to close the line before the end of next year. Now we are considering whether to close this capacity earlier," he said.
