Aluminium producer Norsk Hydro will launch a NKr10bn (US$1.75bn) fully underwritten rights issue to finance its US$4.9bn acquisition of Brazilian mining company Vale's bauxite, alumina and aluminium assets. The Vale purchase involves a cash payment of US$1.1bn and a 22% stake in Norsk Hydro.
