LONDON, October 7 (IranMania) - The first phase of Arak Aluminum factory renovation project is scheduled to become operational within four months, an official with Arak Aluminum factory, Ali Akbar Golkar said, MNA reported.
The project has had is 73% complete and is scheduled to be conducted in three phases, he told the MNA on Friday adding that overall, the project is 65% complete.
Golkar further noted that the factory has received an average Rls.20 bln renovation budget, adding that if more budget were allocated, the project completion process would be accelerated.
“During the past year, Iran Mines and Mineral Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) invested some Rls.24.7 bln in the first phase of the renovation project,” he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Golkar explained that some 85% of the necessary equipments for renovating the first phase have been imported via the Imam Khomeini Port, 13% being transferred to Iran from China and we are considering the sources for the supply of the rest 2%.
He also said that the majority of the imported equipments are the fireproof substances for the production crucibles, pollution controlling systems, insulations and other materials and parts.
Golkar predicted that a budget of $34 mln in foreign currency as well as Rls.30 bln is required for completing the construction of the three phases, saying that the anode-producing unit of the factory also needs $18 mln of foreign currency and Rls.35 bln budget.
In conclusion, Golkar said that Iran Aluminum industry would within two years turn into a green industry adding that alongside some 102 Chinese workers over 700 workers are directly or indirectly working in the renovation project.
