TORONTO, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Unionized workers at Xstrata Aluminum's (XTA.L: Quote, Profile, Research) Norandal plant in Salisbury, North Carolina, have ratified a new three-year labor agreement, the company said on Tuesday.
The contract was ratified overwhelmingly by members of the United Steelworkers union, said Alan Brown, vice president at Xstrata Aluminum.
Swiss-based Xstrata Aluminum's Norandal plant produced 177,900 tonnes of rolled aluminum products in 2005.
The new labor contract, which covers about 210 unionized workers, includes improvements to wages and pensions.
The previous contract expired Nov. 20.
Earlier this year, Xstrata bought Canada's Falconbridge, which owned Norandal.
