NEW DELHI, Jan 18 - India's state-run National Aluminium Co. Ltd. has floated a tender for the sale of 30,000 tonnes of alumina, an industry source said on Thursday.
The tender will close on Jan. 23.
The company finalised the sale of another 30,000 tonnes of alumina at $260 per tonne earlier this month, he said.
An industry official said that a Canadian company, which had bid nearly 40 percent more than market rates in error for an alumina sale tender for 30,000 tonnes, had initiated talks with NALCO to see if there was a way out.
NALCO officials did not comment on whether there was room for revising the sale terms.
