Indalex Holding Corporation has announced it will invest more than $1 million at its Elkhart facility, creating 15 new jobs. The additional jobs will include five full-time and 10 seasonal positions. The company is bringing a new furnace and automated saw to its aluminum extrusion operation in Elkhart. The investment in Elkhart follows the announcement earlier this month of a $22 million expansion at its Connersville facility.
Indalex Holding Corp. has committed an investment of more than $1 million to improve its aluminum extrusion operation at Elkhart the company announced today. The company is also creating 15 full-time and summer jobs at the Reedy Drive facility.
The investment includes a new furnace and automated saw to cut aluminum billet used to produce extruded aluminum components. The investment will help the facility increase productivity to keep pace with a growing order book, principally from customers in the transportation and metals distribution markets.
The new jobs include five full-time general labor positions and 10 summer opportunities. The company is seeking applicants immediately.

Earlier this month Indalex announced a $22 million expansion at its extrusion plant in Connersville, IN. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered the company $75,000 in training grants and up to $820,000 in tax credits to encourage the expansion. Fayette County officials also awarded the company property tax abatement worth $2.5M over a year 10-year period. The company had originally invested $5 million in new equipment following its acquisition of the Connersville plant in 2004.
Indalex invested more than $15 million at the Elkhart facility five years ago to add an automated, extrusion press system. The company also operates an extrusion plant in Kokomo in addition to the operations at Elkhart and Connersville.
