World aluminium stocks rise in July - International Aluminium Institute

World aluminium inventories rose in July, the International Aluminium Institute said in its monthly report. July aluminium stocks were up to 2.841 mln tonnes against 2.798 mln tonnes in June, the IAI said. However, compared with the same month last year, inventories have declined by 6 pct, down from 3.021 mln tonnes. Reserves of the metal rose slightly in Europe, where the majority of aluminium stocks are located. Inventories in Africa, Latin America, Oceania and North America also rose but dropped to 350,000 tonnes in Asia from June's total of 354,000 tonnes. IAI members represent 70 pct of world aluminium production.
