National Aluminium Lowers Price to Reflect Drop in Global Rates

Sept. 12 -- National Aluminium Co., India's second-biggest producer of the metal, reduced prices for the sixth time this year to match a decline in global rates. The price was cut by 5,000 rupees ($124), or 2.4 percent, to 115,500 rupees a metric ton, Chairman C.R. Pradhan said by the telephone from Bhubaneswar, where the company is based. Separately, the company plans to shut its alumina plant by end of October for three weeks of maintenance work, he said.
