Hindalco’s Alumina Expansion Projects Put into Commissioning

Hindalco Industries Ltd announced its Muri alumina refinery and Hirakud smelter have put into trial operation. Muri refinery will lift capacity to 450,000tpy from 110,000tpy, with current production at 180,000tpy and estimated to reach full production in the next few years. Hirakud smelter, located in eastern Orissa, will rise capacity to 143,000tpy from 100,000tpy, and Q1 production at the smelter is 110,000tpy, with expected full production in July 2008. Hindalco programmed several large-scale projects in the early developing stages, with Aditya project will come on stream in 2011 and Latehar smelter in 2013. COPYRIGHT All rights reserved.
