ESS DEE Aluminium Q1 net rises 31.43% to Rs 214.05 mn

ESS DEE Aluminium, provider of pharma packaging solutions, announced its results for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2008. The company`s net profit after tax (PAT) rose by 31.43 % to Rs 214.05 million for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2008 as compared to Rs 162.85 million for the quarter ended Jun.30, 2007. The company revenues have increased by 44.56 % to Rs 107,054.5 million from Rs 74,053.8 million for the corresponding quarter previous year. For the same period, operating profits has increased by 45.24 % to Rs 78,298.8 million from Rs 53,906.5 million for the corresponding quarter previous year. The company`s earnings per share stood at Rs 7.69 for the quarter ended Jun.30, 2008 as against Rs 6.17 for the same period last year, thus witnessing a increase of 24.64%. Commenting on the performance in Q1 FY2009, Sudip Dutta, chairman & managing director, ESS DEE Aluminium (Q, N,C,F)* said,``Q1 FY09 has been a successful quarter for the company. ESS DEE Aluminium has established a niche as an end to end packaging solutions provider to the pharma industry has now established its credentials as the preferred option to the food and FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) sector for aluminium foil based flexible packaging materials. `` Shares of the company declined Rs 3.75, or 1.1%, to end at Rs 336.
