NALCO tenders to sell 9,000 T aluminium - co source

NEW DELHI, Sept 19 (Reuters) - India's state-run National Aluminium Co. Ltd (NALCO) will sell through a tender 9,000 tonnes of aluminium between October and March to a single domestic or overseas buyer, a company source told Reuters on Friday. The official said under the tender each month 1,500 tonnes of aluminium would be sold at a premium over average London Metal Exchange prices. No other details were available. NALCO (NALU.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) is one of India's biggest aluminium producers. The company hopes to sell about 360,000 tonnes of aluminium in the financial year ending March 2009.
