NEW DELHI (Dow Jones)--India's state-run National Aluminium Co. (532234.BY) hasn't resumed operations at its bauxite mines at Damanjodi in the eastern state of Orissa as it awaits security clearance from the authorities, a senior company executive said Friday. The mines had to be closed after Maoist rebels attacked Nalco's bauxite mines Sunday night. "There might be landmines planted by the Naxalites. So until security officials comb the full area and declare it safe, production can't start," said the executive, who didn't wish to be named. Production at Nalco's alumina refinery won't be hurt as it has stocks for a month, the executive added.
