NEW DELHI, Apr 20, 2009 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- India's state-run National Aluminium Co. (532234.BY) expects to restart operations at its bauxite mines on the Panchpatmali hills in the eastern state of Orissa in about two days, a senior company official said Monday. The mines had to be closed after an attack by Maoist rebels on April 12. "I am hopeful the production will start in a day or two," P.K. Mohapatra, executive director of Mines and Refinery, told Dow Jones Newswires by telephone. "We are talking to employees as they are fearful after the attack. The security checks are under progress. Probably we will get security clearance now," he said. -By Rakesh Sharma, Dow Jones Newswires; +91-11-4356-3334; rakesh.sharma@dowjones.com
