BHUBANESWAR, India, April 22 - Indian state-run National Aluminium Co Ltd restarted its bauxite mine on Wednesday, after an attack by Maoist rebels last week frightened workers away, a senior company official said. "The work has started with full strength of over 300 workers," P.K. Mohapatra at NALCO's refinery in Damanjodi in eastern Orissa state, told Reuters. For the time being the late shift that ended at 10 p.m. (1630 GMT) was being done away and work would now end at 5 p.m. (1130 GMT), he said. NALCO's bauxite mine was shut on April 12 when it was attacked by Maoist rebels ahead of national elections, killing 14 people, mostly policemen guarding the mine, late at night. [ID:nDEL456440] The mine has a capacity to generate 4.8 million tonnes of bauxite a year, which is supplied to the company's refinery.
