Mr Arun Kumar Sharma is new director of NALCO

Kalinga Times reported that Mr Arun Kumar Sharma executive director of the Smelter and Power Complex, National Aluminium Company Limited, Angul has joined as the new Director (Production) of the company, following the superannuation of Mr PK Routray. After completing his BE (Mechanical) Hons, from NIT, Allahabad, Mr Sharma started his career from Bharat Aluminium Company in 1974 and subsequently joined National Aluminium Company Limited in December, 1982. Mr Sharma has more than 30 years of experience in Aluminium Industry and has expertise in the area of aluminium smelting. During his professional career, he has held very important positions in the organization. His large professional experience ranges from project conceptualization and construction to plant operation and achieving designed output. He has successfully assimilated the state of art technology from overseas and indigenized it to suit the typical Indian conditions. Mr Sharma while working at NALCO has significantly contributed towards indigenous development of technology, systems and methods for improving critical process requirements of Aluminium Industries. His specific efforts in building up indigenous technological improvement in the area of manufacturing, maintenance and quality management are landmarks in aluminium smelting process. He has wide exposure in managing various quality, environment and occupational health management systems especially in heavy industries. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) and has also served as the chairman of its Angul local center. He was honored with the prestigious ‘Rajiv Gandhi Rashtriya Ekta Samman' in 2008 for his outstanding services, achievements and contributions towards the society. (Sourced from KalingaTimes)
