MUMBAI, May 22 (Reuters) - India's state-run National Aluminium Co Ltd (NALCO) sold 3,000 tonnes of aluminium ingots at a premium of $69 a tonne over LME's monthly average price, a senior official in the company said on Friday. A Japanese firm bought the ingots, and shipment would be in phases starting from June, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity. NALCO, whose tenders serve as an international benchmark, last sold aluminium ingots at $60.61 premium over LME on May 4. (Reporting by Jatindra Dash; Editing by John Mair)
