Nalco donates 15 vans to police

BHUBANESWAR, 14 JULY: The Navratna PSU National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) has donated 15 police control room (PCR), (in photograph) vans to assist the commissionerate police in the help they provide to people in need, in their work maintaining law and order in the city, and the special patrol drives they carry out to detect traffic violations along major stretches across the capital. The PCR van fleet was formally flagged off by the state home secretary, Mr AP Padhi and Nalco CMD Mr CR Pradhan at the reserve police ground. Nalco, as part of its corporate social responsibility, had contributed Rs 78.63 lakh towards the cost of these PCR vans. Mr Joy Varghese, director (P&A), Nalco; Mr BK Sharma, commissioner of police, Mr Himansu Lal, DCP, Bhubaneswar, along with other senior officers of the company, and police officers of the commissionerate, were present on the occasion. Last year the company donated Rs 1.35 crore in financial assistance towards the construction of a 100 man barrack at the reserve police line campus at Bhubaneswar. source:www.thestatesman.net
