India's NALCO raises aluminium prices by 6 pct

BHUBANESWAR, India, Aug 12 (Reuters) - India's state-run National Aluminium Co (NALCO) raised prices for the second time this month, aided by a recovery in the international markets, the company's chairman said on Wednesday. "We have hiked the prices of aluminium products by 6,000-7,000 rupees ($124-$145) per tonne," C.R. Pradhan, chairman of NALCO, told Reuters. The almost 6 percent increase will come into effect immediately, Pradhan said. The rise would apply to local clients. NALCO last raised prices on Aug. 1.
