NALCO bags EEPC Export Award

Bhubaneswar, Sept 1: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna PSU and India 's leading manufacturer-exporter of alumina and aluminium, has bagged the Engineering Export Promotion Council's prestigious All India Export Award being adjudged as the ‘Star Performer' in large enterprise category, for its outstanding export performance during the year 2007-08. On behalf of the company, General Manager (Export & RP) Ansuman Das received the award from Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Anand Sharma at a function held in Mumbai on August 29. During the financial year 2007-08, NALCO has achieved sales turnover of Rs.5474 crore, including the export earning of Rs. 2235 crore. The net profit was Rs.1632 crore during this fiscal. It may be mentioned here that NALCO enjoys Super Star Trading House status, and it is the first Indian aluminium company to be registered with London Metal Exchange, for its high quality products.
